Mizunara Cask is the unique weapon of Japanese whiskey. The sweet aroma of candied fruit, bursts of wood flavor… The first thing the MWR aroma reminds me of is the first version of Mars’ “Fire Bottle” (a wine finished with Virgin Cask, so it has a heavier wood flavor). Comparing the latter, MWR’s sandalwood scent can be easily distinguished from ordinary oak scent. Behind the sandalwood is a hint of grass and coconut, and the fragrance is very rich in layers.
After entering the mouth, you first feel a spiciness, then the sweetness of honey and fruity flavors begin to appear, but they are overshadowed by the woody flavor that follows. The influence of water and wood is strong, making the overall taste slightly bitter. After drinking it, it feels a bit like eating bitter grapefruit, with a short aftertaste.
