Saburomaru Distillery’s latest release, named “Saburomaru III THE EMPRESS” is their fourth release in the Single Malt Saburomaru Series, and is notably the first in the series to use Islay Peat. The distillery also introduced a wooden tank in the fermentation process, allowing the wash to take on a more complex aroma.
Saburomaru 2020-2023 The Empress III is a Japanese whisky from Saburomaru Distillery, owned by Wakatsuru Shuzo, one of the oldest distilleries in Japan. This distillery is known for its artisanal approach to whisky production and a history dating back to the early 20th century. ‘The Empress’ series pays homage to strong and influential female figures, and this particular whisky is the third edition in that series.
